HULETTELUJAH MAQUETTE by Barry Hehemann

$4,000.00

The title, Hulettelujah is a reference to "hulette," a crane used to unload barges and ships, combined with "hallelujah," a shout of praise and joy. Layered and repetitive elements refer to both the industrialized enviornment and to musical gesture. The artist used complex mechanical and engineered forms and a galvanized surface to enhance the strength and visuality of uplifted forms. The artist states, "I work in metal because it is malleable and appropriate for large-scale, space defining art. In combining (steel) with concrete and stone, I add meaning to available technologies and visual references common to industrial and functional construction."

This concrete and steel work is 30 inches high by 13 inches wide and 24 inches deep.
